SickBalling New Member Canada 7 Posts	Posted 11/25/2013 6:43 pm Came across this ~~Chinese~~ Japanese coin in my grandfather's collection. The note with it says its apparently from ~~1143 (820 yrs old) - now 870~~ years. 1769-1859. Anyone have any other info to share? Anything would be appreciated! Sap Moderator Australia 16864 Posts	Posted 11/25/2013 8:02 pm Sorry, but the information on the ticket is wrong. This coin is not from China, and not from 1143. The Chinese did not put "waves" on the back of their coins. This coin is from Japan, a 4 mon "11 waves" type, dating from the period 1769-1859. Here's a good reference page for the type.
