I just completed a Walker short set, all MS65 and MS65+. I have some from both PCGS & NGC. I submitted 4 I thought were better than average strike to CAC (2 PCGS, 2 NGC). Luckily, all 4 were stickered. Both companies provide accurate grading, in my opinion. I buy the coins based on how they will fit in my collection regardless of the slab. It has worked out for me.

This is my Two-cents worth. I'm over 35 years in the collectibles and coins market, and I have noticed some slight quirks between companies. I think the same menatlity applies to PSA/DNA and PSA cards that bleeds into PGCS. PSA/DNA autographs, PSA cards and PCGS are all owned by collector's universe if I am not mistaken..... The grading is OK, and I personally think they are a bit more forgiving on the grading criteria than NGC. I think NGC is a stricter grading company, which is good if you have the superb coins and want that submission to reflect the true MS grade. Thern I think for the most part, through NGC the coin and holder should match grades. There is no Membership with ANACS. The normal coin submission is as low as 10 bucks per coin. They do attribution per coin for $7. Since I've only submitted once to ANACS, I won't comment on their grading. It would be interesting to take five or so coins, and submit them raw to each TPG service and see what each services gives them as a grade. I'd do PGCS last as their holders can be a beast to crack and take a coin out, to avoid damaging the experimental coins.

I don't like powertools when it comes to cracking out coins. Cutting pliers for me :)

Slip lock pliers and a thin blade screwdriver make any slab no match. The TPG (from my experience)with the meanest slabs is ICG. Their plastic has a bit of a "give" to it that sometimes bends instead of cracks. PG

I believe Walkers might be considered more valuable in a PCGS slab than NGC, which is a dumb thing to say, but is likely true. I don't believe either will be much more strict for that series as far as grade, but PCGS seams to give coins a "details grade" more often for coins that are fine without it (i.e damage or scratched for that teeny tiny mark way off a focal zone).
Later dates will have to be very high grade to make it worthwhile. Both NGC and PCGS cost roughly the same and neither would be considered cheap if you only have a few coins to submit and none are worth more than 150-200. NGC
NGC slabs are a little more meaty as far as size and shape. Some may prefer or not prefer that.
If you intend to make a set out of everything, the PCGS registry does seam to be a more happening place than NGC.

The only big difference I found between the 2 is the number of + grades given. The 2 Walker MS65+ I have are 1941-D (NGC) and 1944-S (PCGS). This is the breakdown of each in their respective census reports:
1941-D: NGC 1 out of 2118, PCGS 20 out of 3757 1944-S: NGC 2 out of 1243, PCGS 36 out of 2603
In either case, the ratio of + assigned to a grade vs. the total for the grade is 1.5% or less, not very many.

I pick PCGS because you can repair the holders when they get scratched. All you need is headlight polish and 100% cotton cloth.
You can't repair NGC ones that great. I have done the testing.

From my experience with slabbed coins from NGC & PCGS, I would recommend using PCGS as I have found them to be more consistently accurate in their grading. It seems to me that PCGS is more conservative, which is what I personally like. I have more confidence in their grading. In the end, if there are any qualms about either grading service, a CAC sticker will afford a bit more confirmation.

I have more confidence in PCGS but NGC is also about as good.
