I suggest going to VAM world and looking up the VAM. The reason I say this is because you have the coin in hand and can look for any additional markers.

An incomplete or weak hair band is not that uncommon and to my knowledge is not a known classifier for VAMs. The main features for classifying 78-S Morgans are the 'r' in Trust on the reverse, the length of the arrow nock and the fourth right star on the obverse (complete or broken). Yours appears to have an intact 'r' and broken star with short nock.

Go to the site posted by Collector-Corner and see if you can find any of the pick-up points listed that exist on your coin. For us to help, you would need to post much larger pictures.
