I received the following email from ebay re a $600 coin lot I bid on, won & paid with Paypal (I replaced the Item info with XXXXX):

Thank you for your bid on the following listing:

Item number: XXXXXX
Title: XXXXXXXXXXX

Unfortunately, ebay has removed this listing. All bids or offers on this listing have been canceled. Because the listing was ended, you no longer have any obligation to purchase this item.

Listings are removed for different reasons. For example:
- The way the item was listed may violate ebay policy.
- The sale of the item may be prohibited by ebay.
- The sale of the item may be prohibited by law.
- The removal may be part of a separate action taken by ebay that is unrelated to the listing itself.

We hope you understand that, due to privacy concerns, we're unable to discuss the details of why this listing was ended. However, please note that the removal of this listing should not suggest that this seller's standing in the ebay Community has been called into question.

For more information on why ebay may remove a listing, please go to:

We're sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

ebay Trust & Safety

My question:
I contacted ebay & they said they were unable to tell me anything due to "privacy issues." Paypal said that if I needed to file a dispute & something was wrong with the Item, I was protected & would be reimbursed.

I contacted the seller & he said there was nothing wrong, he doesn't know why this happened & it's happened before to him. Meanwhile, several other Items he's selling are still listed, so ebay has not removed his other sales.

Also, the coins I won arrived today. They look authentic & I plan to have them certified.

Anyone ever have this problem?

It could of just been something like a link in the listing that isn't alllowed or it was in the wrong category or something dumb like that. There are a million reasons a listing can be removed. If you're happy with the coins I wouldn't worry.

At least you got the coins... I would be real worried if I got this email and the coins never arrived...
