Yes, while looking at the "R" with my loupe in the sunlight, the "spot" is green.

I am reluctant to accomplish this (acetone bath) on my own and may have ANACS give it a whirl with their "conservation service", when I send them in.

What I think is that this is a very nice nickel.. A common date and widely saved, a collector has many to choose from, and this example is many steps above average.
All thirteen stars with that much detail?!? Alone, that makes this coin a winner.
Die breaks to boot? What's not to like?

I hadn't realized ANACS had instituted a conservation service. If you're going to submit (relatively soon), it's a prime candidate for easy removal and you can afford to wait that long. Acetone is not difficult in usage, despite our severe warnings regarding it, but if it's out of your comfort zone by all means defer.
