Any ideas as to obverse type or small or large 2 on very worn coin?

There is no obverse variety for 1872H,they are all OBV2.
Can't see the 7 or 2 well enough to tell anything about the date variety.
Your coin was struck with a die sunk while the reverse punch had a broken right stem.These are less common than two broken stems,or intact stems, but have no added value.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
