I don't post here much, but I don't want a CCF member getting something that it is not... Rims do not dovetail in.... plus several other red flags. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...231112601004There is a possibility, however remote, that this was struck on a planchet with an incomplete (partial) clip and it came apart in the striking chamber, but I don't see any clues that would suggest so... Totally agree it looks manufactured, and only one not so close picture shaded on the clip side.

Another fabricated error on icollector... anyone who knows how these coins are struck, will know this type of "error" is impossible. Save your money... Auctioneers selling this sort of crap as legitimate errors really irks me... http://www.icollector.com/2007-2-Sp...or_i18215292

Not sure what is wrong with that first clipped penny! I have seen a number of these similar clips being sold on NWcoin!

I don't see any of the hallmarks of a genuine clip -- Blakesley effect, fadeout and taper of design rim as it approaches the clip, and metal flow in design elements adjacent to the clip.
Nevertheless, I'm not ready to condemn the specimen outright. Sometimes features like metal flow are very subtle and can only be detected under magnification. In short, I have seen genuine clips that look like this from a distance. Only up close do the diagnostics of a genuine clip become apparent.

The second cent was definitely vandalized in a curious fashion.

If the pics are crap...( and they often are)...buyer beware.
Proper sellers should always know how to present a piece..
