Found tapered planchet. 1951 wheat (actually found in my collection) Note weakness on shoulder of obverse and corresponding weakness on reverse of coin. Side of coin is thin (tapered) in this area. My father identified this one for me. Do not have pic of side of coin but it is thin in this area.

They are pretty common on 1950's Wheaties. Some of them show an extreme weakness covering about 40% of the coin. I've thought about doing a date/mm set for these. Even being as common (relatively) as they are, I imagine it would take a while.
