What do you guys think about coin shows on TV such as Coin Country? (channel 227 if you have direct tv, its on right now). I sometimes enjoy watching it but I have never ordered anything from it.

They are extremely overpriced.
These shows are aimed at the impulse buyer, not serious collectors.
If you have a standard rule to NEVER buy anything from these TV shows, you will be way ahead of the game.

They are great at entertaining, just watch the coin vault after coming in from a late night...the shouting man is awesome at 2:00 am......

I will never buy anything from them, but I like watching Coin Country. I have learned a great deal about currency from them, and have a much greater appreciation of it now.

My favorite part of the show is when they say you have 1 minute left we will not come back to this after the break.

Do your homework. Lots of other place (Internet, coin shows, coin shops) where better deals will be found.
