Hi,
Having just bought a John Wilkinson token, ( The Iron King ) 1728-1808, also known as Iron Mad Jack, I have been doing some research.
Some literature I have read tends to suggest that tokens which are misspelt as WILKISON and WILKESON may be fakes.
I wonder if anyone else has heard of this?

Ive been slowly putting together a set - it is true. Any spelling error is indicative of an evasion piece, I.E. fake. You an even get a IOHN WILKISON IORN MASTER.

Ive got one missing an N. I'm thinking of splitting the collection though.

So are the evasion pieces still collectable and worth money?

They are more collectable and worth more money. Especially the mules.
