Hi, Having just bought a John Wilkinson token, ( The Iron King ) 1728-1808, also known as Iron Mad Jack, I have been doing some research. Some literature I have read tends to suggest that tokens which are misspelt as WILKISON and WILKESON may be fakes. I wonder if anyone else has heard of this?
Ive been slowly putting together a set - it is true. Any spelling error is indicative of an evasion piece, I.E. fake. You an even get a IOHN WILKISON IORN MASTER.
Ive got one missing an N. I'm thinking of splitting the collection though.
