Just wanted to share a listing I saw that was rather impressive: http://www.noble.com.au/site/docs/c...e_92/A08.pdfChina, late Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty, multiple stamp and chopped silver ingot, as a silver sycee, fi fteen taels or 18 ounce double axe shape or saddle type, c.1880-1900, (565 grams), 93mmx 60mm (at ends) and 40mm in middle, (Cribb-). Fine, a very rare shape. $450 Considering that melt on that would be about $350, that is a really neat piece!

That looks like a rare, beautiful and interesting bar, and a (roughly) $6/oz premium isn't exactly a killer, either. Is that $450 an auction upset price or a "buy it now" price?

YIKES! I guess I'll stick with my trusty 10oz Engelhards. They're not quite that expensive yet...

I will officially 'coin' a new word, for entry into the English language: 'bulliomatic'. * This ain't a coin, so it can't have a numismatic value. It has wayyy more value than just it's bullion value.
Therefore, this silver bar is of great bulliomatic significance!
* Curious. The first entry of 'bulliomatic' in this post passed muster through my spell checker!

Very cool, I wonder what the inscriptions are on the bar?

I saw some similar bars were listed for around $800+. There is a decent collectors base for these type of 'antique bullions'... just google "silver sycee"
