I am wanting to purchase a few gold coins (bullion), and don't really care if they are American Eagles, Buffaloes, Maple Leafs, etc. Just looking to pick up some gold, stash it in the safe deposit box and leave it there for the next 10 years. What is the expected markup for gold bullion per Troy Oz at a coin or gold exchange shop? If I buy 10 coins or more should I expect a discount?

Ya you should expect a discount if you buy 5 or more. For a common, normal, upgraded issue. I'd say $40 for a 1oz round.

yes there is a markup called a "premium". Usually the smaller the denom, the higher it is.

Work with your local dealer if possible or at least shop around to get the best deal. Always insist on immediate delivery. The more you buy the lower the markup.
