What about this reverse, looks like a soldier with his foot on something holding a shield. The front is very crusted and I can not tell the emperor at all.

I have it in distilled water, would that be the best method to clean something this corroded?

DW won't hurt the coin, it is the safest. You are unlikely to bring out much more as the coin is so corroded, but it is a really good piece for learning purposes.

The coin was struck on a piece of bronze. Time has taken it's toll. You can see the layers that have formed over time. Sometimes, removing the layers can reveal a ghost of what the coin was when it was new. I suspect the layers of detail that you can see are the ghost, removing them will leave you with a blank coin. It is a good piece for learning.

Honestly, I don't believe the coin can be improved. I would suggest using Ren Wax, perserve the coin as is.

I agree with Anoob, I think this is the best it's going to be.
