I found these going through my grandpa's coins. Can any give me a brief meaning of what they are. He stashed away around 30 it looks like. Do people collect these now days?

Yes they do, they aren't real valuable. They were a way to raise money for what is generally stamped on the tokens. They were before the Soc. Sec., the county old folks home.
