FW stands for the Fort Worth printing facility.

The Fort Worth TX printings of this series do carry the "FW" mark

THE Washington, DC printings of this series do carry the " ? " mark

All the bills that I see carry the "FW" mark - Where are the THE Washington, DC bills ?

Been lurking a while...waiting for the right time to join. I guess there really isn't a "right" time, so just going to jump in to answer a question I do know the answer to. Only thing I'll probably regret, the rushed choice of username...need to use a different handle for collection forums.

Anyway...DC printings do not have any mark. That's how you tell DC from FW apart (FW has FW and DC has nothing)

You can tell if a bill is FW or DC just from the reverse of the note as well. The plate numbers are much larger on the FW notes.

Give it time. There were some printings of the Series 2009A in DC, but not nearly as many as FW. It will probably take a bit of time for the DC notes to surface.

I stand corrected on the larger reverse plate number for all FW notes. Guess what? The exception to that now is these new 2009A $100 from FW. I looked at a $100 I have and uspapermoney.info is right. It's a smaller DC-like plate number on the reverse.

Some printing runs have been done at DC, cmcart. More than likely they are still in the Federal Reserve vaults and have not been released yet. I personally have not seen one yet.

Here is a more definitive source. They obtain the monthly printing reports from the BEP

http://www.uspapermoney.info

Click on "serial printing tables" near the top of the page.

Click on the series 2009A $100 in the table on the right and you will see the printing reports. Some were printed at DC, but are much more recent. I'd say keep watching for them and good luck!

My understanding is the new $100s are all out of Fort Worth right now. Could be wrong.
