Does anyone know if storage books exist that allow you to store coins by year? Right now I have most coins in regular 2x2 flips in plastic pages, organized into separate 3-ring binders by cent, nickels etc. But I'm thinking I'd like to have them organized by year - all the 1900s together on a page (cents, nickels, dimes, everything), the 1901s on the next page, etc. I'd be nice to have a little history with them too - mintage of each coin, who was president that year, major events happening that year, etc. to add a little historical perspective. Opening a binder and having a bunch of cents on a sheet kind of loses the historical significance, in my opinion. Anyone know if such a coin storage book exists, or even a regular historical coin-based fact book with a year-by-year history of mintages, US history, that sort of thing? If not I may just do it myself.

Welcome to the CCF!

Dansco makes a nice year set album. You would have to label it yourself.

Might be sonething like that with all the companies that make Albums. Not a popular type though due to many different ideas of what to collect.
For example from what you mentioned you'ld like to put all of the same year of each denomination together. Someone else would like the same only with each Mint also. And others may want proofs too. So for 1950 you could have either one of each denomination or two of each or three of each. And if you go back far enough you also get the CC or O mints.
Although there are many companies that make Albums and Folders for coins, I can't see any of them spending a massive amount of money to make a massive variety of items.
Some companies do make Albums with statistics on the inside covers. But I never heard of one with information per coin per page per type. Even if you did purchase blank Albums and blank pages, you would still have to lable everything.
Your not the only person with their own ideas of what an Album should look like but to make them per person, would be a real cost problem.

I think most of the coin collector items are dedicated not only by just collecting but also organizing their coins based in years and historical heritage. I have known some collectors who really know what's behind each coin's stories and oddities.
