Please grade this Indian Head, I grade it as F12. What do you think?

It looks great - VF 20 - to 30?

I put it right in between F and VF without closer pics of Liberty. Actually closer of the whole coin would help. It could be the distant pics that are hiding a full Liberty and sharp detail....

It looks like a VF20 -- but the obverse surface looks a bit irregular. Has the coin been cleaned?

Yes I didn't factor in much about the obverse - don't things like that detract a little... in which case, probably VF 20, it has strong features..esp. the reverse

I think you are maybe a bit conservative with a F12 grade here. It could bo VF20...or even a bit higher, depending on what the photos are exaggerating...or hiding. The apparent porosity of the obverse is troubling and would reduce a grade in most eyes if as bad as the photo shows.

You just have to love these cents. This is one of the great designs. The mint really got the small cents off to a tremendous start with the Flying Eagles and then the Indians. I like the old bust cents, too...but the first two small cent designs are just spectacular in my eyes.
Rest in Peace

At least VF, definitely. The feather detail is far too much for F.

I think Sr. "hedgehog" has undervalued his own coin!

^^Re. the grade being possibly higher than VF 20 - what about the wear down on "Liberty"?
