shermae Valued Member United States 259 Posts	Posted 12/27/2013 9:02 pm My estimate is AU-53 with somewhat harsh cleaning. What makes it look cleaned are the numerous thin scratches evident on both sides of the coin, indicative that something abrasive (e.g. steel wool) was used to clean the coin. Scratches like this are inconsistent with bag marks. The reason others have commented that it may be an old cleaning is probably because while the scratches are easy to see, the coin appears to have re-toned and softened a bit from handling over the years/ Report this Post to the Staff
