are the 1 ounce American Silver Eagle and Canadians Maple Leafs consider as numismatic coins? do they have any leverage against the low mintage pandas, Kookaburra, lunar, privy and Kualas in the very far future ?

Thank you

If youre referring to the bullion ASEs than no. The Proof, Uncirculated and Special Sets are numismatic versions for the ASEs though.

The Pandas now are essentially bullion as well since their mintage was allowed to explode. Theyve been made in the millions the last few years.

It is as basebal21 said. If you are asking about a bullion grade ASE then it is exactly as the name implies...bullion.

In 2006 the mint started selling uncirculated ASE along side the proof versions. These have mint marks and are processed as collectible versions of the bullion coins. They also are given a mint mark on the reverse and a certificate indicating where they are created.

Keep that in mind when you see auctions/dealers listing uncirculated ASE. If the reverse has no mint mark on it and there is no COA listed with the coin - it is a bullion coin that is worth little more than the market price of silver.

I disagree, Find me an ASE for spot or under, find me a 1986 or 1996 for spot.
Any amount, that a coin of any kind, sells for, over it's PM value, is it's numismatic value. This value is determined by what people are willing to pay for it, but numismatic value none the less. IMHO that makes it numismatic.

Numismatic really has little to do with value anyway. Numismatic has to do with " the study or collection of coins, medals tokens currency ... etc.

Do people collect bullion ASE's ..... yes. Secondarily, are many people willing to pay more than silver value for many ASE's ...... yes. That makes them numismatic.
