I think you have a very good haul. I'd really like weights and diameter on all of them , but............... Sports medals are not greatly popular. Military sports medals are hugely popular. Lets have a look at the reverse of the RAF medal. Ditto baking prize medals. They make good money, for reasons which are totally beyond me. Star of the show is your third specimen. It's a real beauty and a very popular type. I absolutely love it. Let me have the details and I'll try and work out values for you.
Hi thanks for the response I have the RAF one to hand but I have put the others away for safe keeping ? but cannot put my hands on them at the moment ..
RAF is 27.8g & is about 38mm across off th find the other two now where would I put them ?
So, 1921 and the RAF was three years old. The medal is signed (although I can't quite read the name) and it's in its box of issue which is stamped RAF. And it's a very well executed design. If you were thinking of selling, the start price should be around £90-100. I think it would make a fair bit more.
Pinches is good. It might be worth asking a few auction houses. The pricing is awkward as the sellers premium by auction may wipe out a lot of your gains and ebay might not realise the best price. Although they'll take their pound of flesh either way.
hi yes they all want there cut, that is why this year I have opened my own store and I dont have the commission charges any more so I can sell my stuff cheaper than on ebay and the like. I will put the RAF one on today .... thanks again for the help
