They are Chinese "fantasy dollars", not actual coins. These coin-like medals are mass-produced and sold in all kinds of situations, to tourists and such, and come in a wide variety of themes, such as Chinese emperors, historical figures, etc. The first one I believe commemorates one of the "eight immortals" of Taoism. The other seems to depict Buddha.

Actually, the first one is one of a set of 18 souvenir medals representing the "Eighteen Arhats". This particular piece depicts the eighteenth Arhat (Lohan) known as the "Taming Tiger Lohan" or the Venerable Maitreya (å¼¥å‹'å°Šè€.).

The second piece is a souvenir of the famous novel/movie/TV show "Journey to the West (西游记)".
