Hi everyone and Thank you bobby131313 ... I have found a coin/token which reads ... SLEIGH DENTIST 133 STAMFORD-ST ASHTON on One side and then "PAINLESS EXTRACTIONS" with some other description on the other although it does need a good clean. I was wondering if anyone could offer any information on its rarity and/or its value please. Thank you in advance for any replies.

Drats, I was going through my civil war token book only to find out this is a 19th century Great Britain token. Of course, it's from the town Ashton-under-lyne near Oldham. Store cards from GB and this era are incredibly tough to find, so I can imagine the rarity will be through the roof on this one. My guess it was produced during the 1860's-70's.

Oh, and by the way, do not clean this token. They won't be worth much if they are cleaned. Collectors prefer the original state of preservation.

Looks like the Sleigh brothers were in business in the late 1800s - here's a google books link to a legal tiff they had: http://books.google.com/books?id=3o...tist&f=false

They charged 6 pence per tooth

Hello dollydot09,

Please take and upload pictures of both sides of your token. Nobody here can give you any real information or valuation since the photo you are using doesn't appear to be one you have taken of it - although it may be similar and even have the same words, we can only guess at its condition.
