I was thinking to myself what if any traditional new years resolutions do I have for 2014. I came up with nothing . But backward coin resolutions I do have some. 1) I WILL begin to collect more Morgan dollars. 2) I WILL frequent my LCS at least once a week. 3) I WILL finish my silver roosie set. 4) I WILL only spend money I have on coins. 5) I WILL get my first ever gold coin. 6) I WILL get my first ancient coin. 7) I WILL get my digital camera and post my first pic here on CCF. What is yours? Edited by SilverTracker 12/31/2013 07:21 am

In the past eight months of CHR I have found more than 2 ounces of silver, in the next 12 I'm shooting for 3 ounces, and my first silver quarter find. One of my favorite finds was the 1964D dime that sent me over 2 ounces, it showed it's age in a tiny bit of corrosion but was on the high side of 50 for condition considering luster and lack of ware. The edge catches your finder print and the reeding is untouched
Also I will be working on my second set of Roosie's I was close and got a lot of $10 face that almost finished out 2 sets then the LCS helped with the first one, just have to wait for their supplies to refresh.
It's the THRILL of the hunt, my last 2 silvers for 2013 were a 1964d in fair to good shape and a 1968 Canadian 50% dime. Being in Montana Canadian coins are not rare, I opened a roll and found a 1971 Canadian dime and thought well that is only 3 years away from silver. I'm sure most people think 1964 was the universal cut off for silver but that is just US so a few rolls later I had that bright white face slap that made me stop and smile.
In fact I have that coin to thank for starting me on this forum... how do you tell a 99.9% nickel dime from a 50% silver one? YO MAGNETS DUDE!
OK so my real goal for 2014 is 4 ounces but I'd be happy with 3.

American coins are ubiquitous anywhere in Canada... well, maybe Nunavut and the N.W.T. are spared. If you're in Montana, I guess we're neighbours (neighbours separated by a long distance)

I'd like to finish my circulated 1938-present Jefferson nickels collection. I'd like to do more coin roll hunting.

Every year for a long, long time now I've had basically the same New Years Resolutions. More than one just in case some fail. 1. Get rid of one item a day, no matter how small, just get rid of something. 2. Get rid of all the duplicate coins in 2x2's in 9 of the two row Whitman cardboard boxes. 3. Get rid of many duplicate coin Albums. Same thing every year and never gets done.

1. Finish the sets that I've started. 2. Update my reference books (going on 4 years!) 3. Refine my tastes, turn down crappy looking coins so I don't get stuck with them.
