Hello all,
Bought this long ago just because I like it. Now want to sell, but only learned a little from research.

1. Is it an 1888/7?
2. Is the dot below the bust considered an error?
3. What should I list as the grade?

Grateful for any help.

Charlene

It is an 8 over 7. The only thing you can normally see is the little lump at the top right of the 8. In your case it has the base of the 7 downstroke showing too.

Thank you for that.

Does the down stroke showing carry a premium?

Trying to squeeze everything I can out of this coin. LOL

No premium for that as the vast majority are 8 over 7. Any premium is for the straight 8 without the underlying 7. They are much less common - less than 10% at a guess.
