I'd like some advice, please.
I've got the KM standard catalogues for 1600 to date.

I've been thinking about asking for 'Canadian Colonial Tokens' for my birthday, however, is there significantly more info on the tokens than is in the 2014 Charlton Coin Guide ?

I have about 30 Canadian tokens, only some of which are in KM.

KM is the standard, but unfortunately the standard is low.

I can open my 1982 KM and my 2012 KM to the same section and it will be almost identical, the same pictures the same prices, they get lazy sometimes but I really can't fault them. Each year they have to put in the new coins an increasing pain with the EXPLOSION of commemoritives and proofs, do we really need 25 pages of non-circulating marshal island proof sets listed on paper when the prices jump like kangaroos. Not to mention the older coins that keep popping up in better condition than the ones they have in the books

Don't get me wrong I love the KM's very useful but highly limited.

I can't properly answer your question, because I'm not familiar with the KM catalogues.
However, my son-in-law gave me Charlton's Canadian Colonial Tokens for Christmas. It has lots of photos, illustrations and descriptions.
There are flow charts to help determine varieties of the P.E.I. "Ships, Colonies & Commerce" tokens.
Included are sections on tokens of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Lower Canada, Upper Canada, Province of Canada, Imitation tokens, and Blacksmith tokens.
