OK let me be the first to say... WHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!
more pics more pics... I want to see what it looks like compared to a dime, nickel and a quarter... could it be a planchet from a different denomination? the edge shows copper but the face is very tin like... the larger size is a WOW moment for sure.
Good luck with it I'll be watching this one, so I hope someone has a good explination.

Yes, the edge is copper collared but the face is aluminum or silver colored. I am beyond stumped and know there is no other place to find the answer than here. I'm not home at the moment but will get pictures with other denominations.

It is called a Texas Cent. It was pounded between two pieces of a material to protect it such as two pieces of leather . This makes the diameter expand while protecting the devises. It is PMD.

It can't be just a different planchet because the entire image is larger. Also, notice the hair, beard, and face of Lincoln is much more detailed and crisp than the 1984 reference coin. The same with the lines and bowtie on Lincolns suit. Nevertheless, I don't know what it is....

Maybe the normal cent is a shrunken coin experiment and the greyish greenish one has just probably been heated to a very hot temp and temperered. Its probably really ruff to the touch and warped slightly. Just a guess but I could be right surly about the greyash one. It does seem really neat tho. I dought its titanium like you might be thinking for some reason! Which one is the size of a normal cent ?

the 84 doesn't really look normal it has a strange rim. thats the one that made me think of the shrunken coin experiments. If you have seen those they are really cool I would look them up if you have never herd of shrunken coins. I'm not really sure I believe they're real cause I have never seen one in person and they're on youtube. There is also a site just look up shrunken coin experiments.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wanted to get one of those shrunken coins but I never have. Has anyone here ever seen a shrunken coin or have they been talked about here. Like I said I'm not even sure if they'are real. Lol. People must hold onto them tightly since they dont randomly show up as error coins in these threads.

They're real, and we've talked about them, but they're not "error" coins. They're deliberate creations involving extremely high voltage. https://goccf.com/t/157135

I know exactly what they are. I was just saying I have never seen one in hand so I could not say for sure if they were real. Why do you think I suggested it as a cause . Because I first thought about those and thought maybe lesser voltage could be used to make smaller versions or less time/different variables. Although I think its a blink of the eye kind of process that happens very fast I dont know I have not seen them for a long time and dont remember the process and I dont think the say for sure becuase its propritory. I was saying now that I thought about that I have never seen some ask is this "smaller coin" a ''printed error" from the mint. lol that would be great.
