ebay takes much heat over swindling/dubious sellers--deservedly so in nearly all instances. As buyers, we get quite angry. The CFF has many sellers in its membership. I wonder what their thoughts are...

...I both buy (a lot) & sell (a few) ... I don't know how ebay could "police" all of the items listed ... many categories are specialized, such as 'coins', art, etc. & an untrained eye cannot distinguish between legit & fraud ... dis-honest folks will always find ways to ply their swag, taking advantage of any loop-hole ... ...currently, ebay depends on viewers to alert them to scams. But, many offerings are worded in such a manner as to make it hard to prove fraud. ...their 'No Listing Fee' has opened the door to fraud & junk offered with no consequence to the seller .. as it also facilitates small-scale money laundering ... ...this "no fee" fishing expedition for scammers is quite the quandary ...

The number of listings is an ebay statistic that ebay wants as high as possible.

ebay item number: 255976604755re-posted from another topic / this site ... this seller has multiple listings of "junk" at ridiculous prices ... contacted him, & you should see the responses ... claims "research" backs up his claims (yet, no returns...lol) ... & gets angry ...I politely pointed out that his "rare" errors were worth little to no premium ... & now I'm blocked from bidding ...dang ...

not unusual is the fact that this dude has a list of worthless "errors" ... hard to tell if he's a scammer, or just ignorant ...

I was trying to find an example of one of those bi-metal pound coins for my collection but ebay is littered with junk listings.
