1944 side makes it look like it could be a Magicians coin.... but I could be wrong.

Yes, I think both are real.

As one error coin, no, I don't.

The seam along the edge is pretty noticeable on the 1944 side where the two coins were fit together.

Almost no chance thats real. The only way that would ever be made would be a mint employee intentionally doing it, which is possible but not with a seam like that on it. A real one would probably be a 6 maybe 7 figure coin, not a 9.99 ebay auction.
