That toning is weird. The coin is ofcourse, a restrike. Likely made in the late 18th or 19th Century. In that condition it's worth silver melt value although it may not be silver at all. Test the coin to see if it's silver.

The hair is rather unclear and some of the lettering seems fuzzy. I'm wondering if it's a cast.

This is a very bad, off-metal copy of an Austrian Maria Theresia Thaler.

Maria Theresia died in 1780, and the Thaler has not been a unit of Austrian currency for at least a hundred years, but the coin is still produced with the date 1780 as a silver bullion coin. In this capacity, it was one of the most widely used and recognized silver coins in the world. It would be accepted in Africa, China, Europe, the Middle East... so there is a lot of motivation to create a fake copy. What size is it? It could also be an off-size replica made for tourists rather than a counterfeit intended to be spent.

Ok guys, thanks a lot for your input. I found it on an auctionsite without any information ecxept that it is a silver coin. I also got suspicious but also intrigued because it looks like a original and not a re-strike. But I didnt want to risk paying money for a copy or a fake so I decided to let it go. I hope I made the right choice
