I won the lot, $40. Thats the approximate value of the Carausius, so its a great price.

The coins:
CARAUSIUS, PAX AVGGG, rated rare, London Mint. More on the issue below.

2x Commemoratives. One is silvered, not seen that before.

Victorinus Barbaric Imitation. Copied crudely from COMES AVG with the legend on the obverse being an attempt at 'IMP C PIAVVONI VICTORINVS PF AVG'. Unlisted, it seems. Legend seems to actually read PIVESVINO VCTOR.. and ..VG (retrograde and inverted G). This makes it clear that they had the coin present, but could not read it and did not understand the significance of what they were copying.

2x Helmeted Constantine Is (possibly II on one of them).

A word on the AVGGG issues of Carausius:

Carausius usurped Britain from the Romans. He immediatley issued coins bearing his effigy with words of wisdom (Glorious Golden days are back) on them. But he wanted unity with the roman emperor and sought ot be recognised, which is why, towards the end of his reign, he started issuing coins for the ruling emperors in Rome with the legend AVGGG symbolising the 3 augusti - For Diocletian, Maximian and himself. But they were having none of it and did not return the favour. A rare issue with all 3 emperors jugate on the front exists, but it would cost you a LOT.

A little later, he was assassinated by Allectus, who also had none of it and issued only coins for himself. A couple of years later the roman empire landed on the coast, and the empire came to an end with Constantius Chlorus riding into London.

The Carausius, almost certainly. I see detail on the face of Pax - if it cleans up really nicely, I might have to sell it for university funds, but hopefully ill be able to keep it.

Ill certainly keep the Victorinus - ill try and get it recorded as a barbaric type as its quite distinctive.

The rest ill see in hand. Might be good to offset the purchase. The Constantine is nice and rated rare with some hoard encrustation on it. Thick flan too. Might be hard to let go.

Always interested in these 'British' types. I believe I mentioned once before a rather bizarre low budget horror flick by your countryman Ken Russell.
It was called "The Lair of the White Worm". A Bram Stoker novel adapted by Mr Russell. archaeology student finds a connection to a well to do Lords disappearance to an ancient cult of a Giant Snake. The movie connects the secret cult to a certain Marcus Carausius. Always disappointing when they find a 'coin' and instead of borrowing the real deal from a local shoppe they use a tourist make believe coin instead. But an entertaining movie non the less.
I recommend it for a rainy winters day !

Well, the lot arrived. £9 customs form and the seller doesn't seem to give a damn, I'm definitely going to avoid them. whether I give them negative feedback or not depends on how politely they start responding (they arent good at this customer service thing). Interestingly, they specifically state that fees arent their problem, so its clear they knew this would happen. Disgraceful service.

The Carausius is pretty nice, high relief. Long neck, but legends arent great and its been in olive oil long enough to start discolouring. Unfortunately, due to the customs fee (£1.02 of VAT but also an £8 handling fee) I'm not going to be able to keep any of these, but hopefully the Carausius will sell well enough for me to keep the Victorinus and hoard encrusted Constantine (the round one, still a little encrustation and the lightest silvering I've seen).

Am I looking forward to cleaning the Carausius, starting Saturday. Its a nice example, so ill take it slow. Ill take some pictures in a bit.
