Hey everyone,
I tend to buy out some pretty large collections in order to build my own, and I have ended up expanding my interests outside of my comfort zone a bit due to this... In the last few weeks, I purchased a very very large world coin collection that has been both massive and of very high quality... The collector who it came from was especially proud of his German Notgeld Token collection, which I ended up purchasing honestly based off my cursory research on them and how amazing the rest of his collection that I purchased has been... Well, I'm going crazy trying to learn what I can about these, but there really is very little information in English I have been able to learn- The collection, which is over 1200 different examples, is very well cataloged and described, with numbers beginning in L, which from my research are the numbers from "CATALOG OF GERMAN WAR TOKENS by Robert Lamb", which has been out of print since the 1960's... so that doesn't really help me too much...

So, I figured I would put it on here, if anyone has any expertise in this area or could point me somewhere where I may be able to find more information- At this point, I don't even have a clue as to where to go from here.

Any help or suggestions from the real experts would be greatly appreciated, you guys always come through :)

I've got some German Notgeld paper, tried to look it up and gave up. They had 2 or 3 different kinds of tokens in each town or more, and then they would be re-issued and changed, and each town was different, it's all a mess. I'd look hard online and check local rare book stores to get that specific book, look up 'My Numismatic Library' we were just talking about how important it is to have reference books. I'd say look for other Notgeld posts here and maybe just start posting images of some of them. I'd love to see them! "How far back can we go? Second Edition!" is on 1943 today so some of your tokens might fit in well, it was mostly between the two world wars that the Notgeld's were in use so you may have to wait a few days to post the first one on there.
