So trends state that the high 7 is more valuable then the low 7 and Charlton states the opposite. Which one is correct?

Hmm... I find both of them show up fairly frequently... but I have not kept an exact count.

But there should not be too much difference, unless you go into the top grades and only one of those varieties was included in uncirculated sets (although, don't uncirculated sets have a non-circulation finish?).

Judging from actual auction results, I would say Trends has it backwards between the high and low 7.

I purchased a high 7 in MS-65 in 2012 for $27. Trends is $150.

I bid on low 7's a couple of times on ebay for full Trends of $50 and was significantly outbid both times.

I would say the Charlton and C and C price of $40 for high 7 in MS-65 is closer to reality.

I would say that the Charlton price of $110 and the C and C price of $120 for low 7 is closer to reality.

Don't forget about the double 7.

http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1953-2014 matches Charlton if you want a tie-breaker. :-) I have to agree with EastVanRob for how they behave on ebay. I did spend some time looking, but never came across a double 7 circulation coin. Although I do have a couple of nice PL/NBU ones.
