Is there any sort of rhyme or reason behind when the US Mint releases certain Commemoratives? I noticed the Civil Rights sets are available, but not a sign of the Hall of Fame ones.
The US Mint typically releases its new commemorative coins during the first three months of the year; the past few years it has been in the February/March time frame.
The very early release of the Civil Rights coin was atypical for the Mint.
Some have speculated that the opening of the HoF coins sales window will coincide with the Major League Baseball schedule. For example, maybe sales will begin on Opening Day, or near the date of this year's Hall of Fame inductions. We should have more details before too long.
