I've been out of the loop for a while, so I figured I'd ask. What is a considered a neat, cool, or keeper serial for the new $100. Some of the examples I've seen posted don't seem like they would be kept if it was a different denomination or year than the 2009A $100.

For example: I have 2 star notes sitting in my till... Would have been 3 if I was paying attention... Serial numbers are LC 00299945* and LC 00299947*

Keepers? Spenders?

I work at a credit union and we have been inundated with the new bills. They stick, so I tend to mix them with older bills to prevent giving out doubles. Most bills have been coming in in sequential order, so I will be paying more attention in the future.
Rest in Peace

USPaperMoney.info is a good place to check the star notes for rarity. If yours were part of a run of 300K or less then it has some premium value. The numbers on your star notes are not Fancy Serial Numbers. But depending upon what series they are, they may still have a premium value.

As for what serial numbers are collected, just do a search on Fancy Serial Numbers and you'll find a lot of sites with a lot of examples.

I just keep whatever I want and then I get them out and check them against the print runs. I keep anything from before 2000 and all the star notes I find...and I will continue to do so until it become inconvenient. But most are not worth any more than face value.
