Not sure who mints them but has anyone ever collected super bowl commoratives?

There have been many medals struck for the Super Bowl over the years - all by private mints (none by the US Mint).

The Highland Mint is the current market maker in sports "coins." They have licenses to produce medals for MLB, the NBA, the NHL and the NFL. You can visit their site to see all that they offer. They have some pieces from last year as well as medals for all of the teams participating in this year's NFL playoffs.

In answer to your question, I'm not a collector of such medals.

I really would not think of collecting them unless I had a favorite team win.
