I would say PMD. Looks like it has been flattened. I would like to see the edge. With that kind of wear, a Buffalo nickel struck on a Barber quarter planchet would have been in a slab by now.

EDIT: Hard to believe it is upto $32 with 15 bids. Are people really that gullible?

It's PMD. Do a search on the forum for Texas Cent and you will see other examples. The coin is put between 2 pieces of leather and pounded with a hammer.

or knows the term

the coin is not circular - check carefully. Someone paid $50 for a garage experiment.

Wow ... sold for $51.

This is a garage made 'error' and not a worthy coin.

It sure pays to have some knowledge on how coins are made.
