I posted about this a while back, but now I got around to taking much better photos of it.

RCM-Canada-Day-Token---2013

So, during Canada Day, we went to the Mint and you could strike a little souvenir medallion for free! The line was about half an hour, but we got there in the end. The press was driven by gravity, and you had to crank the hammer die up to operate it. It typically bounced a little and off-center/doubled strikes are common.

Anyway, does anyone have any similar RCM boutique medallions? Apparently, they did the same thing in Winnipeg

So that's the canada day token. I guess they made too much, because you could still get them already minted at the end of august if you presented a newspaper article from Metro. I thought I missed the canada day token, but it appears I don't :)
Only missing the rabbit year and Vancouver 125.
