So,,,, I really like coins with animals. I normally dont go for these type coins but I couldnt resist the design on the 2013 S Sacagawea dollar coin and instead of getting a whole set I got a 2013 S Sacagawea $1 Treaty with the Delawares NGC PF70UC Early Releases slab.

Very happy with the coin. Anyone else collect these here or like them?

That's the one with the wolf, turtle, and turkey, correct? I really like that one too. So far all I keep seeing is the flying eagle one. It is nice in it's own right, but that other version .... if I don't find one in circulation, I'm going to have to buy one too.

I heard that the Sacagawea coins are the first US coin where both eyes are visible (instead of a one-eyed profile). Have you found that to be true?

<-- Big fan of the dollar coins. Like the Big dollars best, followed by the SBA, followed by the Native American, followed by the old Sac, and finally the Prez.

Only dislikes about the NA and Prez: Mint mark and Date being on the edges. The motto and stars I don't mind. (Although, I think the gov should have broke down and bought the rights from the Swedes to use the non-tarnishing Nordic Gold if they wanted a brass dollar)

On the subject of Early Release slabs, do they have any premium over non-Early Releases? I mean, isn't a PF-70 a PF-70 if it was minted in January or December?

Sometimes they do being some of the first graded which usually have special labels. Its not any huge premium though

@Spott

yes it is,, I just, you know that design with those three animals caught my attention. I was so tempted to buy even a box and several bags of these just because... but I understand those are now sold out at the mint.

This is one of my first and only type coin in my collection. Nothing has really caught my eye. Then I thought, you know, I dont know much about these coins and what to get, so to be on the safe side, I decided to go the graded way.

I cant wait to get it in my hands!

I like those designs. My only complain is the TPG...

NGC will give the PR-70 out more often.
PCGS is harder on them, but sometimes over-grades them. (this doesn't mean the PR-70 grade)
ANACS seems to be okay on them. But they don't carry premium.
ICG loves to grade proofs high. (But they're still a good company. Not for proofs though)

Now I know some people might say all this isn't true. But believe whatever you want. I believe it's true because I see it a lot.
Don't take this in a bad way, it's all my opinion.

I like, PCGS, ANACS and NGC. I might get some ICG coins someday...

Premiums are highest for PCGS then NGC then ANACS. ICG seems to be getting used less and less now.

For modern coins like this one PCGS and NGC are the only ones worth looking at for 70s. PCGS ones usually have a slightly higher premium and sometimes a huge one, but NGC ones have a healthy premium as well. NGC does usually give out more 70s, some would say PCGS is too tight with them others would say NGC is too lose with them. PCGS probably is stingy with 70s putting the truth somewhere in the middle of the beliefs of the two camps.

@Yup, haha, I understand what you mean. I like the ANACS slabs a little so I buy them. I like PCGS slabs the best because you can repair scratches.
NGC you can't.

But whatever TPG you pick, is your choice.
Just don't buy the holder, make sure the coins looks nice.

Every Type collection should have one Sac Dollar.

I am still looking for a decent "Wounded Eagle" variety for my collection.

Yea, like in this case, they even had an exclusive native american label,,, to which as I looked around I said huh.

I went by a combination of price, grade and the coin and how it looked.

This is only my second graded coin. I like them and I think for some coins its worth to have them graded.

yes what you said is what caught my eye to these coins. Normally, I pass on these type coins.

Excellent that you have the P and D... I am tempted to snatch up those as well now.

What is it going to take for the US Mint to showcase all the birds, animals, etc of this country?

I mean all the animals on this coin, I just couldnt resist it.

You will probably have to buy it because the 2011's were the last ones made for general circulation. The 2012's and 2013's were only made for sale directly to collectors in rolls and bags. Very few of them will ever get into circulation.

Not quite. The busts on Mount Rushmore on the reverse of the State Quarter show both eyes, but the Sac may have come out before that one. I don't know if you can see both of Helen Kellers eyes on than State Quarter and there were several early commemorative halves where both of the persons eyes can be seen.

The Booker T. Washington immediately comes to mind.

Also, several modern issues (Washington, RFK, Black Revolutionary War Patriots, Dolley Madison, etc.) predate the Sac.
