For those of you who collect circulated classic commems, I was browsing a website and stumbled across a Missouri commem in G-6 the dealer has it priced at $450. It wasn't a 2x4 version.

Is this excessive for a "normal" Missouri?

Is this version of the Missouri Commem one of the more common classic commems circulated, if there is such a thing as a common version?

It peaked my curiosity

The 2X4 is the less common version. I would consider $450 for a G06 a little high. I know that a Forum member here had one offered on ebay for a lot less than that.

Some additional thoughts from another circulated commemorative collector ...

The 1921 Missouri Centennial Half Dollar is not difficult to find in honestly circulated condition.

PCGS has certified 45 total Missouri below AU ... with the majority (36 of them) being the 'plain' variety without the 2x4.

There are certainly many more out there raw that would certify in this range.

That said ... your prospective G06 example has some potential as a low-ball .... alas there are 5 coins already certified lower by PCGS.

To price ... I'll be honest and suggest that your internet dealer is dreaming a bit at $450.

I paid $198 for my Missouri that was eventually certified as PCGS G06 ... add the certification fees and I suggest that your dealer is asking approximately 2x current market value.

MV - Like David said, that's a highball price for a lowball coin! Not sure what level of circulation you are looking for, but there are a few Missouri's on ebay right now in the $250 range that might work for you.
