Here is my Macedon, Philippi.

Victory Left on Globe, VIC AVG / Standards, COHOR PRAE PHIL.

It is my understanding that this coin commemorates the Battle of Philippi.

Nice. This type was issued after the Second Triumvirate (Augustus, Antony and Lipidus - this battle fought by Augustus and Antony, though Antony is the one who actually won it for them) defeated the Liberators (Cassius and Brutus) and finally rid the empire of the assassins of Julius Caesar. Difficult to get cheap in any condition, and I've been on the lookout.

Really? I've seen plenty of these for cheapo prices. For under $30 on vcoins at this very moment, I found 10 of them.

In looking I have seen the best ones list at $100.00's-ish.

Although minted later than the battle it is commemorative of the August's victory.
