Not sure what to call this error quarter. Very slightly off-center on both sides, and partially reeded. Got it in pocket change today. Any guesses as to value as well? I've never run into one of these in the wild. Thanks! Dave

It is a partial collar error with a value around $10. It is not off-center because the entire design is present and the coin was at least partially contained by the collar. If it had no reeding, you would have an uncentered broadstruck error.

I thought if only one side is off it's a MAD and if both sides are off it is an off center planchet? John1

John1, that's what I thought too....but then I went searching for more information (error-ref.com) and now I think that it is the partial collar error that makes it look like it is off-center. Maybe.

This would be an uncentered partial collar strike.

Would uncentered be the same as off centered? John1

No, they are two different terms. Off-center= design missing, uncentered= full design present but not centered on the planchet.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I'll keep it for now as an uncentered partial collar strike. Dave
