A couple of weeks ago I decided to put together a raw set of Eisenhower dollars and store them in a brand new Dansco album. I already had all but 5 or so coins to complete the set, and every coin was in OGP. So when I got the Dansco album and slipcover in I was completely impressed with its quality and presentation. Now I know why most collectors prefer them. I basically added the other coins I needed within a couple of weeks. I was so happy with it that I also upgraded my Franklin half dollar set and Buffalo nickel (in progress) set to Dansco albums too. I had so much fun filling the Ike set that I've decided to start another one. I'm thinking of maybe doing a few Ike sets. I have a newfound appreciation for using coin albums. I would love it if Dansco would make a PCGS slab album for a complete variety Ike dollar set. Regardless, this new raw set is a great companion to my PCGS Registry set.

I hear ya!! I'm on my 11th dansco 4 custom and supplemented them with additional pages sky is the limit! Oddly enough the LCS 's usually have "gently" used books and slip covers as well

Looking good!

I might have to come back to this thread every now and then for the show.

Looking good there Darth, lets get those poker chips lined up straight though.

I just scored another set of 4 blue Ikes, can't get enough of them.

Rick- those blue chips were straight, but they're just slightly smaller in diameter than the holes, so they move around no matter what. As long as the coins are straight my OCD is kept in check.

I have four duplicates in those holes, 1971-D, 1972, 1976 Variety 1, and 1977-D.

However, it turns out one of them is not really a duplicate. My 1972 hole has a Variety 3, while the 1972 mentioned above is Variety 1. These coins were inserted long before I knew about the three 1972 varieties.
