The only doubling I'm aware of for 1889 is a rather spectacular DDR, whhich would likely be visible even in these images but isn't. This coin looks very much like it's been brushed, particularly in the first three images. It's a fairly low-mintage coin (28,950) but not scarce for the series and commonly available in very high grade, so if yours is cleaned it's not going to carry a high-demand price. Probably below $200, even if it's technically Mint State.

I think this 1889 gold dollar from my 7070 is a doubled die reverse, and probably from the same die pair as the OP's. It shows best in the ribbon ends at the bottom. The obverse has something different going on with the lettering like that one too....

Yours is the one I'm talking about, Dave - it's quite the doubling.

The 9 in your date differs in location, though - not sure what to think of the OP coin. I see Longacre Doubling on your obverse, which these are known for.

Hard to tell if it is doubling on the reverse from the image provided. It does appear to have been cleaned.
