With the tape directly on the coin. No matter how little my coins sell for (shipping included), I always respect the coin and put in a 2x2 and safely secure it. A pet peeve of mine. Once at my LCS a woman brought in her father's collection of canadian coins and they were all taped to the pages of a coin catalog from the 50s its worse cause he was a collector.
