This seems to be a authentic silver denarus with a loop soldered on top for a chain.would it be a good idea to remove the soldered part or just leave it? The total weight with loop is 2.6grams. I believe it is sol on reverse.Maybe Caracalla on obverse?

If I remember correctly from other threads, I believe the general consensus is - extremely difficult by any means that will not damage the coin.

Exactly: Acid, Fire, Ice or Hammer. A coin in the setting is worth more than 2 halves of melted, bent, etched, cracked junk.

On a different note, the emperor is Elagabalus, not Caracalla.

Thanks for the info I will probably leave the coin as is . On ancient coins the rim of the coin usually has imperfections unlike a modern coin so I think it would be easier to remove without affecting the coin as much.

The coin is indeed real but fairly common so the loop is not going to effect it's value very much. It's best just to leave it.
