There is a 20 coin roll of 1922s on E-Bay in BU condition w/ a BIN price of $659 & a roll of 23's for $680 BIN. So, get ready to break the bank if you're wanting to do something like that. Are you interested in coin collecting or stacking silver? If wanting to collect, I would recommend one coin at a time, as that's where the FUN comes from... It takes much longer, but you can hand-pick your coins

Keep in mind, you can't legally join and bid on auctions like that if you're under 18. ebay either, for that matter - minors can't enter into legal contracts by law. So, how old were you again?

Yeah, these sites look great to start, then the reality sets in. I would definitely watch and see what the stuff sells for. Like was said, probably way too much. It always amazes me how many people there are out there throwing lots of money away.

I second Dave's comment. If you look at collecting as a race, then you'll end up paying more than you need to. And then the excitement of the hobby is replaced by a fleeting feeling of delight that comes with 'buying' things.

I see these auctions all the time. High fees, hidden reserves, shill bidding, are all usually included in these " govt. seizure " auctions. It says current bid is $1.00, but it also says to " log in " to find bids and auction status. Once you log in, I am sure that you will find the "current bid" probably set by the auction company at retail. Then they entice you to bid up from there. Say retail is $670, add 18% $120.60, add $18 shipping , what seemed like a deal at first now is a roll of Peace dollars for $808.60 . That is how these auctions make their money. Stay away from these " seized asset " auctions, they are a scam.

Hate to agree also, but true. Patience is the key for me too. The hobby has to come to me. If I'm in a hurry it will cost $. Right now everything seems expensive...frustrating, have to back off.

Honestly, if you want to buy bulk common date silver dollars, check APMEX. They usually have decent deals on things like that.

And remember, when registering for a strange site, and it does say it is a private site, one risks identity theft when dropping too much info. I am always skeptic when I see what is supposed to be a government seal and a disclosure the site is private.
If you collect coins and need only one I see nothing wrong with buying a roll at a good price, keeping one, and making a small profit on the others which you can buy a variety of different coins with. So buying a roll is not necessarily for the purpose of stacking silver.
