I found this in my collection yesterday. Is this a D over D variety? I could not find it in my Cherry Pickers Guide.

Thanks for the input. I saw that some on the date. I had just noticed a gap between the D's on the mm so I thought I'd ask. I took the pics about 15 times. Hard not to get a glare on the steel.

Im no pro and when coop sees it he will probably sound in but I have seen this time and time and thats what I have been told. The steel cents were incredibly hard on dies and wore quite fast.

The coin also suffers from being reprocessed. This enhances any slight die wear and imperfections on a coin. Just die wear as mentioned. The biggest clue to me is the direction of the area in question. When it flows in the direction toward the rim, that is my best clue. You can see the 4 & 3 have die wear in the same direction as the mint mark.

Thank you very much for the information. I'll keep looking. Not as easy as it would at first seem.
