Yes, 1000 old pesos. These are some common relics of Mexican tourism in the late 80s... I found one in a snowbird's couch as a young child and thought I had just found a thousand-dollar gold coin! For a few minutes (before someone explained it to me) I thought I was rich beyond my wildest dreams. Sadly, it's just aluminum-bronze.

They were once convertible to one New Peso (~8 cents right now) but that period of convertibility may be at an end by now. I'm not sure.
