But what I can see appears to be the reverse (shield over cross Moline, CIV[ITAS] visible in one quarter) of a penny. Can you get a sharper photo maybe? Report this Post to the Staff

"the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data" Some aspects are involved in seeing faces in things, such as the 'man in the moon'. Without clearer photos we just can't tell whether this is an example of there appearing to be a face when there is not, or double striking of the coin or ... The fact that it reminds me a bit of the portrait of Canute on this penny is neither here nor there.. It also looks a little like Mr Banks from the Simpsons ..
