I have in my possession a coin that a friend would like some help with. On the 2x2 that the coin is being held in, someone has written "Great Britian 1701 VG Shilling" but that does not at all match what I find in Krause. What do you think it is? Any suggestions on if it is real or a counterfeit? Value? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sorry for the low quality photos.

It appears to be a brass token in the form of a Spade Guinea. These were mass produced as gaming counters.

Alright. Does it have any value or is there anywhere that I can read about the token? Should I move this discussion to the token section?

I think I am reading "OYIETFGREX SUF TDSTMSET" on the coin. Any ideas what that would mean?

The legend on the genuine guineas reads M B F ET H REX FD B ET L D S R I A T ET E for "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Arch Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire." The gaming token often had altered legends, sometimes including the name and/or location of the manufacturer.
In this BNS article, I think you'll find this legend on #9 to #13 on their list.
